Creative Dining Services and the Gateway Mission are looking for a cook to join our culinary team at the Spoon Cafe and Grill. It is a newly constructed, breakfast and lunch service restaurant in beautiful Holland, MI The restaurant is a Christian-missioned social enterprise, culinary-learning environment through Gateway Mission.

The Food Runner is responsible primarily for the distribution of food items to customers in a restaurant setting. Provide fast, efficient service to all customers. Follow procedures and policies outlined by the company, such as portion control and plating procedures, while displaying a friendly and helpful attitude to all customers and fellow employees. Follow company guidelines regarding safety and sanitation.

The successful food runner will:
•Serve meals to customers, and/or guests. Alert server to any needs/requests when you cannot bring it to them
•Set up station prior to meal serving time.
•Help Expo or server with sides/condiments other items
•Keep station tidy and clean
•Keep sanitation levels up to company, state, and federal guidelines. Keep sanitizing solution behind the lines at all times. Keep work area clean and organized.
•Communicate in a timely manner with the kitchen staff, expo and servers regarding the food on hand and its quality
•Understand and follow seating proper procedures for delivering food to customers, following Supervisors guidelines
•Return unserved food to the kitchen for proper storage.
•Break down, clean, and restock the service line.
•Assist with general cleaning duties.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•Physical Demands/Work Environment

The successful candidate will have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Some experience in foodservice preferred
