Cyber, Privacy, and Data Innovation Litigation Associate

Responsibilities We are seeking a junior litigation associate with 2-3 years of litigation experience to join our busy, cutting-edgeCyber, Privacy, and Data Innovation team. Responsibilities include working on our robust pipeline of sophisticated, innovative, and industry‑leading litigation, including class actions, across a range of clients in Orrick’s industry verticals of technology, finance, life sciences, and energy. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation of complex civil litigation experience, and be a passionate, highly motivated, dynamic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills — and above all a team player. Specific cyber/data/privacy litigation experience is highly valued. The candidate must possess strong academic credentials, excellent legal research abilities, and superb writing and oral communication skills. This position offers the candidate the opportunity to support a busy team with all aspects of complex disputes and litigation, including working directly with clients. The successful candidate will help manage all aspects of discovery (with the support of Orrick’s industry‑leading eDiscovery, Analytics, and Litigation Support team) and will be actively involved in deposition and hearing preparation, motion drafting, mediation statements, and other common civil litigation tasks. Membership to the State Bar of the desired office is required. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is between $235,000 and $260,000. Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
