OPS Consulting is seeking an experienced Research Scientist to work in the following locations: Locations Baltimore, MD College Park, MD Required Experience The Research Scientist valuates and provides expert advice on the application of scientific principles and concepts. The Research Scientist also maintains substantial knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art principles and theories, staying abreast of the scientific literature and conferences. Additional experience is required in the following areas: Designs, develops, and executes scientific studies. Executes scientific studies. Applies scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. May participate in development of intellectual property. Plans laboratory research. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research. Provides technical consultation on projects in area of primary expertise. Applies scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field. Level 1: One (1) year of experience or a Master's degree plus two (2) years of experience. Level 2: Nine (9) years of experience or a Master's degree plus six (6) years of experience or a Ph.D. degree plus four (4) years’ experience. A current government clearance, background investigation, and/or polygraph are required. Level 3: Twelve (12) years of experience or a Master's degree plus nine (9) years of experience or a Ph.D. degree plus seven (7) years’ experience. A current government clearance, background investigation, and/or polygraph are required. Security Clearance A current government clearance, background investigation, and/or polygraph are required.
