Merchandiser Lead – OLATHE & SURROUNDING AREASJoin the team at Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company. The Merchandiser Lead works with the Merchandising Supervisor to assist in the development of the merchandising staff by providing training and coaching. The role is scheduled to merchandise accounts as needed and supports the team with a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service.Job SummaryAssist the Merchandising Supervisor. Provide training and coaching to merchandisers, monitor daily activities, conduct weekly audits, cover open routes, and ensure safe working techniques.Job ResponsibilitiesTrains new and existing merchandisers in standard merchandising activities and procedures. Conduct onboarding training with new hires and any retraining programs, as necessary, and provides performance feedback.Serves as the point of contact for the Merchandising Supervisor on days off, fielding calls, managing schedule changes, and handling customer concerns.Monitors daily merchandising activities in Pace while in the field using an iPad.Conducts weekly audits in stores and weekly check‑ins with merchandisers.Covers open merchandiser routes and fulfills daily activities completed by a merchandiser as needed.Ensures teammates receive proper safety working techniques and equipment, identifies and reports unsafe conditions, and complies with all company policies and procedures.Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred; minimum of one year of related work experience required.Minimum one year of experience in grocery, retail, warehouse, manual labor, or related field.Prior merchandising and leadership experience preferred.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Experience with pallet jacks, high‑loader lifts preferred; PIT certification required upon hire.Basic computer and technology skills; proficient with smartphone, iPad, and laptop.Flexibility with work hours; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Valid driver’s license, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within policy guidelines.Physical RequirementsSpeaking: Constantly (investigates, negotiates, recommends, reports, etc.)Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents)Typing: Frequently using electronic devices for day‑to‑day business (email, reports, texting)Mobility: Frequent travel throughout customer locations (walking in backrooms, aisles, greeting customers)Bending/Squatting: Frequently (looking in racks at all levels, counting cases, checking dates)Lifting: Frequent – lift 40 lbs. or less (full cases of product)Pushing/Pulling: Frequent use of manual cartsDriving: Frequent travel between customer locationsPay$21.25 an hourAbout Heartland Coca-ColaHeartland Coca‑Cola Bottling Company produces, sells, and distributes high‑quality Coca‑Cola and Monster beverages across Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.
