Job Description - Quality Electrical Engineer II (335216) Job Description Quality Electrical Engineer II Job Number: 335216 About This Role Performs Quality Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Work is performed on moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area. The Quality Engineer supports product design activities, planning for quality, production activities, data analysis and development of metrics, root cause and corrective action, and process and product improvement. Responsibilities Reviews customer contracts on simple to moderately complex projects; responsible for requirements identification, analysis, and definition. Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s). Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues. Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements. Participates in product development and design document reviews targeting design for manufacturability and contract requirements. Participates in process improvement activities through process and nonconformance monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis etc. Participates in program management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s). Participates in Contract Data Requirements List development, review and delivery to the customer as required by the assigned project(s). Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards. Performs Material Review Board (MRB) disposition and tracking activities. Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions. Provides status inputs to the Cost Account Manager for tasks performed. May perform CAM function for small to medium projects. Performs QA estimating for small to medium, lower complexity projects. Qualifications Position Requirements Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze specifications, drawings, procedures and schematics. Ability to apply logical, scientific or analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Effective ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks. Ability to work both in a team environment and independently An inquiring mind and passion for learning Knowledge of Quality Engineering and manufacturing processes Technical knowledge of inspection and test techniques Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and concepts Experience with Oracle a plus Education Electrical Engineering preferred Experience Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, or Electronics Design Engineering role, in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment Design, development or manufacturing electronic assemblies, electronic test systems… preferred ANSI/ESD S20.20 training or experience preferred Knowledge of Electronic component including operating tolerance a plus How We Care At Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
