Procurement Specialist

The role of the Procurement Specialist will be responsible of supporting the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of inventory, and maintaining supplier relationships. The position works hand in hand with the site Operations and Logistics teams to ensure it runs efficiently to meet production goals. Emphasis on purchasing, vendor management, and international supply chain.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Procure goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price and delivery speed
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in procurement
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage order processes for indirect services
- Improve inventory data accuracy and MRP
- Manage supplier risk and report procurement performance
- Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing policies
- Purchase parts at best prices
- Resolve discrepancies with invoicing or materials
- Communicate with Customs, brokers and vendors
- All other duties assigned by management or supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 or more years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills:
- Proficiency in procurement management principles
- Knowledge of Supply Chain processes
- Ability to effectively manage contracts and supplier relationships
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
