Job Title: Permanent Legal Assistant
Location: Dallas, TX (75254)
Schedule: Full time onsite
Salary: $65k-$75k
Responsibilities
- Provide support to assigned attorneys and backup to other attorneys as requested.
- Prepare, edit, and proofread a variety of documents including correspondence, pleadings, and agreements.
- Manage document production, including Bates Stamping.
- Draft simple pleadings and correspondence.
- Prepare court filings and file with various courts, including Federal Court and Court of Appeals.
- Create Table of Contents and Table of Authorities.
- Prepare and finalize discovery documents.
- Communicate with court staff regarding various issues.
- Handle outgoing and incoming mail/FedEx for assigned attorneys.
- Maintain calendars for assigned attorneys, coordinating meetings, depositions, and conference calls.
- Prepare Trial Memorandum and calendar all appearances and deadlines.
- Schedule local and out-of-town depositions, including conference room arrangements.
- Coordinate mediation dates.
- Scan and upload documents to the Document Management System.
- Assist with trial preparation and create masters for new files.
- Answer telephones and take detailed messages.
- Interact with clients, outside counsel, and others as requested by attorneys.
- Assist with overflow court/judge's rules and filing procedures.
- E-filing experience in the state of TX.
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Legal Assistant.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficient with court rules and calendaring deadlines.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- Teamwork oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
- Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
