You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As an Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling components for the wood walls, steel walls and metal moment frames and inspects finished products to fulfill customer orders. Thats year one. **WHAT YOULL BE DOING** (of Time)

Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements. Plan production or operational procedures or sequences. Assemble components as specified by print layouts, drawings, and work orders. Inspect materials and products to meet Simpsons quality standards. Remove defective or substandard materials from machinery and readjust workflow and/or machines. Adjust machines and/or tool controls, if available, to alter position, alignment, speed, or pressure. Stack and sort products for packaging, further processing or shipping, according to type of product. (50%)

Read and examine blueprints, drawings, work orders, or patterns to determine equipment set-up or selection details, procedures to be used and dimensions of final products inspections. Adjust bolts, clamps, stop guides, or table angles or heights, using hand tools such as nail guns, staple guns, power drill guns, and/or power saws. Measure materials or objects for installation and assembly. (50%)

**DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

If you can do everything listed above, youve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

* High School Diploma, GED required

* 3 years related experience and/or training would be ideal

* Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

* Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

* Selective Attention: The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

* Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, addition and subtraction.

* Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

**TRAVEL REQUIRED**

This job does not require travel.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located in Stockton, CA.

**RELOCATION**
