**Primary Objective of Position**

Perform assembly of a wide variety of passive electronic units working from written procedures, pictures, line aids, samples, and verbal instruction.

**Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities**

**Technical Job Functions**

* Perform electronic assembly work including soldering, desoldering, touch-up, rework, and prototype assembly

* Winding the toroid transformers and assembling into the toroid base according to the drawings, prints, schematics, or written instructions

* Perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying devices

* Perform assembly tasks, such as adhesive mixing, potting, encapsulating, epoxy bonding, and curing

* Typical operations include: inspection and touch-up soldering of P.C, boards, interconnection of baseplate assembly and P.C. boards, check continuity as required using continuity tester, check assembly for open, short using LCR meter

* Typical electrical components are various sizes of resistors, LEDs, diodes, capacitors, IC's, wires, and transformers

* Typical hardware components are toroid bases, shields, leadframe, gaskets, sockets, plugs, connectors and contact pins

* Typical miscellaneous items used are sleeving, cements, grease, tape, oil, lacquer, paint for marking, epoxies, hand stamps, decals, and lacing twine

* Operate miscellaneous small power machines to facilitate assembly operations
