Network Team Lead

As a Network Team Lead, the individual will be responsible for acting as a lead on various projects by developing plans and schedules, defining strategy and system requirements to operate and maintain networks in a government IT support environment. In this role, the Team Lead will be responsible for proactively planning and working with other teams to mitigate the disruption of transport equipment by responding to outages and resolving problems quickly. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for providing strategic and architectural guidelines to as it relates to general networking and network security.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing a network team and proactively implement processes and procedures that optimizes productivity.Identifies and evaluates technical architecture to ensure solutions satisfy business requirements and performance goals.Evaluates and recommends security improvements and system upgrades.Creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while training and mentoring team members.Performs network design, implementation, and management.Installs and configures network equipment (i.e. routers, switches, etc.)Maintains network connectivity of all workstations, servers, wireless devices, etc.Provides network support to users, including VPN support and remote access.Maintains associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.Develops and monitors policies for the use of network resources.Implements and manages disaster recovery and back-up plans.Monitors network to ensure optimal performance, using SolarWinds.Creates and maintains network users/permissions.Tests release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.Creates technical support documentation for systems and applications.Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office.Required Qualifications/Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDMust have a minimum of 8 or more years’ experience in a network administration role.Must have a CCNP Certification.Must have a valid Security+ Certification.Must be able to manage a diverse team and promote a collaborative environment within and across IT teams.Must have a strong knowledge of networking concepts and IT infrastructures.Must have proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills.Must have previous experience with Network management and monitoring tools.Must have strong oral and written communication skill.Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability.Proficiency with scripting languages.Must have hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities.Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues.Previous experience with Cisco switches.Ability to mitigate the disruption of transport equipment.Ability to respond to outages in a calm professional manner.Must have a Public Trust Clearance or higher clearance.Preferred Qualifications/Education and ExperienceSecret Personnel Security ClearanceAbout the companyProviding IT services and products to transform government and corporate organizations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
