Enterprise Architect

Overview Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Enterprise Architect/Systems Engineer tosupport the Integration Division in Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Acquisition Delta within the United States Space Force. They aim to integrate activities for the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) system across the Acquisition Delta. As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will perform work that involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise's structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization. This is a full-time position located at Peterson Space Force Base with the option to work remotely up to fifty percent. Telework capabilities for local candidates (percentage of telework allowed will vary based on the customer's discretion). Responsibilities Developing reference models of theITW/AA Enterpriseand maintaining the information in thegovernmentrepository. Determining the gaps between the current and the target architecture and recommending plans for transitioning to target architecture. Recommending the policies and principles to guide technology decisions for theITW/AAEnterprisearchitecture. Identifying opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies. Promoting and educating customers and stakeholders on the use and value of theITW/AAEnterprisearchitecture. Providing enterprise architecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers and project teams. Documenting the enterprise architecture infrastructure, including the business units and key processes, using modeling techniques. Ensuring technical integration is achieved across the enterprise by participating in test planning, validation, and reviews. Evaluating the impact of enterprise architecture products and services on IT investments, business operations, stakeholder satisfaction, and other outcomes. Coordinating and conducting governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture. Supporting implementation and execution of Agile software execution in concert with Government and Prime contractors. Supporting and advising on the development of Service Oriented Architectures for software development. Using Cameo modeler, Jira, and Confluence to create models and track progress to completion. Qualifications Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, and maintain it Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience; including eight (8) years of DoD experience Preferred Qualifications: Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Certifications: CISSP Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSIP-ISSAP) Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience;OR, Master’s in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience Additional Experience: DoD Acquisition Program Office experience Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Proven experience applying MBSE principles to design, analysis, and management of complex systems throughout their lifecycle. Demonstrated ability to integrate various system models and ensure alignment with engineering and operational requirements. Proficiency in System Modeling Language (SysML): Extensive hands‑on experience utilizing SysML for system modeling and documentation, including the creation of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, and block definition diagrams, among others. In‑depth Knowledge of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF): Strong understanding of DoDAF architecture views and products, including Operational Views (OVs), Systems Views (SVs), and Technical Views (TVs). Demonstrated experience developing DoDAF‑compliant models to support the design, analysis, and communication of defense architectures. Experience with System Architecture Tools and Frameworks: Familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture, or similar platforms to create SysML and DoDAF models, ensuring robust system design and analysis.
