What is it like to be DDRC's Director of Nursing The Director of Nursing at DDRC plays a vital role in the organization, implementation, and follow-up of comprehensive nursing care to safeguard the health and physical welfare of individuals enrolled in DDRC's waiver programs. This position involves providing clinical consultation and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses while collaborating closely with Program Directors to ensure adherence to nursing regulations and person-centered practices. The Director of Nursing will also assist in the administrative oversight of Licensed Professional Nurses, contributing to medical planning for assigned caseloads by conducting assessments and delivering accurate medical information to the team. Furthermore, this role involves developing community medical resources, identifying healthcare providers to meet individual health needs, and acting as a liaison between various healthcare entities. Additionally, the Director will prepare for CDPHE surveys by ensuring compliance with all health-related regulations across programs. What you need to be successful To excel as the Director of Nursing at Developmental Disabilities Resource Center, candidates must possess a strong foundation in nursing acquired from an accredited nursing school, holding a current license to practice in the State of Colorado as either an LPN or BSN/RN. Essential skills include a minimum of three years of nursing experience, complemented by at least five years of staff supervision, ensuring effective leadership and team coordination. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance, compliance with nursing regulations, and a thorough understanding of person-centered practices. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, as it enhances the ability to tailor care to meet diverse needs. Proficiency in healthcare software and tools is crucial for maintaining accurate medical records and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams. Strong problem-solving abilities, empathy, and a customer-centric mindset are essential for fostering a safe and supportive environment for both staff and the people we serve.
