RN Specialty Clinic - Oncology / Hematology (PRN Days) Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice, supporting physicians as directed. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. The incumbent integrates Mercy's philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and dignity, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area of responsibility. A caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected in communicating with patients, families, visitors and employees. Performs related duties as assigned. Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice, supporting physicians as directed. Assist physicians in patient treatment and complete related clinical paperwork. Maintain a caring and professional approach in communication with patients, families, visitors, and employees. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self‑care program, instruments and common safety practices. Licensure: Current valid state license. Experience: Not required. Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Ability to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or ability to learn these skills, to access information and enter clinical data. Equipment Used: Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.
