Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials.Uses appropriate chemicals and cleaners safely and productively according to instructions and established State Department of Education regulatory to ensure personal, student, public, and staff safety. Responds to emergency situations in order to confine, resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, broken windows, broken locks.Requisitions supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Moves heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually with assistance or by using hand trucks.Sets up, arranges, or removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. WORKING CONDITIONSThe working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure. PHYSICAL and SENSORY REQUIREMENTSTasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects andmaterials 30 pounds.A review of this position has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. All duties and responsibilities are essential job functions and requirements are subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
