This Is How We Elevate Human Experience About the Role As a Senior Manager of Accounting, you will be responsible for all areas related to financial reporting, including developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. You will address tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities such as general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year‑end audit preparation and support of budget and forecast activities. You will collaborate with the CFO and Controller, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. Key Responsibilities Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation. Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes. Continuously focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices. Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades and implementation of ERP software. Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Interact at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month‑end closing and all internal management and financial reporting through annual reports. Maintain hierarchy and scalability in the chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements, and hold ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions. Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and study regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Make recommendations for changes as needed, ensure company policies and procedures are followed, and establish proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud. Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses. Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns. Work with Audit, Tax, and Treasury Manager to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities through annual reports. Prepare summary feedback on financial statements variances to budget. Actively review and advise on financial and accounting processes. Develop and communicate cash flow projections. Supervise a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants to ensure they are motivated and provided proper support to meet their duties and responsibilities. Ensure general accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Actively manage the AP team with day‑to‑day collaboration with the Revenue/Billing teams. Track financial status by monitoring variances from budget. Perform and review monthly account reconciliation for related balance sheet accounts with detailed support schedules and take appropriate action to clear reconciling items. Lead month‑end close process and preparation of internal financial statements, ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year‑end close. Manage Fixed Asset with annual budget. Lead preparation and coordination for external auditors and tax requests. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Perform ad‑hoc projects as necessary. Qualifications BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting. Minimum 8 to 10 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years of supervisory or management experience (preferably a combination of public and industry accounting). Experience using Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards or related enterprise system in a professional capacity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of internal controls, best practices, and the ability to research and document accounting and financial topics. Analytical skills, displaying an ability to gather, relate and compare data, and ensure data is reliable, accurate and complete. Detail orientation to ensure related tasks are completed timely and accurately. Thorough understanding of accounting procedures & GAAP. Ability to manage confidential information. Financial closing, consolidations, reporting, planning and project management experience preferred. Position may require extended hours and work on weekends or holidays. The employee occasionally must stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required include close vision.
