Job Title: PLC Technician

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for designing, programming, testing, and implementing computer control systems used for production automation, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot issues and problems that may have non-standard solutions and assist maintenance craftsman with debugging and troubleshooting.
Assess functionality of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Be able to analyze electrical and control system requirements and design, write, install, and test programmable logic code.
Responsible for being main point of contact for in house controls projects with responsibility for assisting the engineering department, assisting in building scope of projects, and assisting in directing maintenance teams during outages.
Responsible for working with Corporate safety and electrical engineering to get approval for safety program changes as well as changes with 480 V power.
Effectively communicate machine programming or safety program changes to the affected production or support teams.
Observe and adhere to OSHA, USG, and NFPA 70E regulations.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with plant rules/procedures and completing safety inspections to meet both OSHA regulations and USG safety standards.
Conform to the plant’s reliability performance model (RPM), as well as other required maintenance activities.
Responsible for performing all assignments as delegated by supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

2-year degree in automation or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and experience working with Allen-Bradley PLC programs and programming
Knowledge and experience working with Fanuc robot programming, servo drives, VFDs, and machine safety components
Knowledge of industry standard safety requirements for controls and electrical systems
Understanding of general manufacturing processes
Knowledge and experience working with Allen Bradley RS5000/Studio 5000 ladder logic, structured text, safety programming, ethernet I/P, Device net, motion control, and Powerflex 525/755 series drives
Knowledge and experience with Fanuc robot programming including ability to touch up programs, positions, and mild programming.
Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
Must be willing to pursue additional training if required to do so
Must have ability to safely operate plant mobile equipment
Must be a self-starter and complete tasks with little guidance or supervision.
Must demonstrate good safety and attendance.
Must demonstrate ability to maintain good working relationships using constructive communication skills and dignity/respect.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
