Senior Director - GTM Excellence, Technology Industry Group (TIG) - Private Equity Alvarez & Marsal is a leading independent global professional services firm. We are expanding our Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) - Technology Industry Group team and seek a Senior Director with deep GTM expertise to drive value creation for private equity and corporate clients. Overview This role will lead and support GTM excellence work across the full deal and company lifecycle—from pre‑deal diligence to post‑deal implementation—focusing on sales effectiveness, pricing optimization, customer segmentation, and channel management. Responsibilities Lead or support GTM diligence workstreams during M&A and growth strategy engagements Evaluate sales and marketing operating models, including customer segmentation, pricing models, and channel effectiveness to align with business strategy Assess revenue growth opportunities through analysis of customer acquisition, retention metrics, and product‑market fit Conduct interviews with senior leadership (CROs, CMOs, sales leaders) to identify gaps in GTM strategy, execution, or marketing effectiveness Engage during pre‑acquisition diligence to evaluate sales effectiveness, marketing ROI, pricing strategies, and organizational structures Develop Day‑1 and 100‑day plans to drive performance improvements in sales enablement, pricing optimization, customer segmentation, and channel management Execute merger integration and carve‑out strategies, managing critical path workstreams to ensure seamless GTM function separation or integration Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives in sales and marketing while maintaining or improving revenue performance Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize revenue and margin performance Qualifications 14–20+ years of experience in sales, marketing, revenue operations, or GTM strategy/operations, preferably in mid‑ to large‑company environments Exposure to private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related transaction and merger integration is a bonus Proven track record building or evaluating GTM strategies, including customer segmentation, pricing models, and sales enablement Experience contributing to or leading revenue growth initiatives—internally (sales optimization, pricing strategy) or externally (M&A integration planning) Strong cross‑functional teamwork ability to deliver high‑quality results on time and within scope Ability to analyze sales and marketing spend patterns and link them to revenue outcomes Familiarity with pricing optimization models, customer segmentation, and channel management strategies Hands‑on knowledge of sales and marketing tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, marketing automation) Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; excellent communication abilities Comfort engaging with senior leadership and articulating findings to executives and private equity stakeholders Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred Team‑oriented, adaptable, curious, and a quick learner Willing to travel up to 25 % Compensation Base salary: $175,000 – $250,000 annually (dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography).
