As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the proper medications get to the patients who need them. You will also be responsible for maintaining productivity and quality standards, as well as legal and company compliance, as you assist in the preparation of prescriptions.

Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Panama City, FL
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing FL State Pharmacist License
Education: Pharm.D. or B.S.
Years of Experience: 2 years
Setting: Inpatient
Schedule: 7 on 7 off 8:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
Length of Assignment: Temporary
Pay: $55.00
Background/ Drug Requirements: Must be willing to submit to a background check, health and drug screen.

Pharmacist
Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe, optimal, and efficacious drug therapy for patients.
  • Review, process and monitor physician orders and patient medication profiles.
  • Provide pharmacy information to physicians and nurses.
  • Provide pharmacotherapy to patients to ensure patient safety.
  • Contact other health care professionals as appropriate.
  • Work with other health care professionals to identify and resolve drug related problems.
  • Recommend patient specific pharmacotherapy plans.
  • Review physician orders and other processed orders for accuracy, completeness, clarity and appropriateness.
  • Provide drug consultations per physician orders and requests.
  • Assist with medication reconciliation, as required.
  • Perform drug dispensing, as required.
  • Assess orders for problems (dose, allergies, efficacy, etc.), and resolve such with physicians, nurses and/or others, as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of order entry into computer system.
  • Maintain all legal and departmental records, as required.
  • Verify work of technicians and students, prior to dispensing.
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation and inspection of I.V. syringes, small volume I.V. admixtures, TPN, LVP's, chemotherapy and miscellaneous sterile compounding.
  • Maintain current knowledge of drugs, drug therapy, state and federal regulations, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to cover all areas of Pharmacy Services and responsibilities, including certification in IV admixture.
  • Work with oncology and infusion center personnel to identify special needs, drugs and IV medical supplies.
  • Clean and maintain equipment or work areas, according to prescribed methods.
  • Assist customers by answering simple questions and locating items.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Assisting Pharmacy Manager and/or Director of Pharmacy in all day-to-day Inpatient duties.
  • Work within institutional and departmental policies and procedures, and within the scope of professional practice standards, and state and federal laws.
  • Participate in departmental Medication Usage Evaluation programs.
  • Document interventions and other activities, as required by legal and departmental policies and procedures.
