Federal Compliance Specialist Stantec’s Government Compliance Department ensures the company meets U.S. federal, state and municipal regulatory requirements when performing on U.S. contracts using government funds. We continually strengthen compliance structure and internal controls, defend against Federal auditors, and provide guidance to support the expanding federal workload. Your Opportunity The role is focused on ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and CAS, developing compliant indirect overhead rates, advising on pricing proposals, and managing audit communications. Your Key Responsibilities Ensure Stantec complies with Federal and State regulations on U.S. Government FAR, DFARS, and CAS covered projects. Explain and defend compliance practices to Federal auditors. Educate and counsel leadership regarding FAR, DFARS, and CAS concepts and risk management. Support the Federal Contracts Team in pricing proposals, charging practices, and project audits. Oversee Stantec’s Disclosure Statements for accuracy and compliance. Help develop internal controls and process improvements for regulatory compliance. Oversee and develop the annual Incurred Cost Electronic (ICE) process and submissions to federal agencies. Serve as point of contact with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) for information requests and audits. Your Qualifications And Credentials Experience creating and supporting ICE and Disclosure Statement submissions. Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures regarding federal contracts. Demonstrated team player with leadership and inspiring abilities. Analytical skills supporting outside auditors. Comfort navigating between high‑level strategy and tactical execution. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Excellent communication skills for explaining complex accounting issues and gathering information. Education and Experience BA/BS or equivalent in Business, Finance, or Accounting. Minimum 15 years of FAR, DFARS, and CAS experience and federal contracting knowledge. Experience interacting with DCAA and DCMA auditors regarding requests, audits, and cost impact proposals. Experience with MS Office and Oracle accounting system is a plus. CPA is a plus. Pay Range Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas – Min Salary: $111,200.00 – Max Salary: $166,900.00 Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas – Min Salary: $119,300.00 – Max Salary: $179,000.00 In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required.
