Job Summary and Qualifications

The Special Procedures Technologist performs a variety of duties in the department as a member of the interventional pain management team at Mission Interventional Spine. The Technologist is primarily responsible for supporting patient care during procedures, assisting the physician in establishing and maintaining a sterile field, providing high quality images for proper visualization during fluoroscopic guided procedures, and maintaining principles of ALARA to protect all patients and staff. The technologist will provide compassionate patient care, maintain a clean work environment and perform other duties as assigned, including post-operative patient care and inventory management.

Requirements

  • · ARRT Registered in Radiography
  • · BLS Certified
  • · Five years’ experience preferred
  • · Special Procedures or Surgical experience preferred
  • · C-Arm experience required

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Technologist contributes to organizational effectiveness by reporting for duty on time, adhering to center policies/standards and completing related duties in an effective efficient manner. These duties include but are not limited to:

  • · Ability to perform all radiology functions according to policies and procedures.
  • · Ability to demonstrate appropriate sterile and aseptic techniques.
  • · Ability to manage radiology equipment during a sterile procedure in a manner that assures maintenance of the sterile field.
  • · Ability to prioritize and have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • · Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
  • · Adherence to standards of practice/infection control for department and procedure suite.
  • · Technical Skills – Assessing own strengths and weaknesses; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
