Academic Professional, Franklin CREATE Director Position summary: The University of Georgia’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences seeks an entrepreneurial leader to serve as Director of the newly launched Franklin CREATE initiative, an applied experiential learning program that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship across all disciplines. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership and Administration (75%) Define initiative roadmap and strategy with Senior Associate Dean and project leaders. Fundraise in partnership with Franklin Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Supervise direct reports, including the program manager and staff. Serve as primary liaison with academic units, faculty, and students. Manage program budget and ensure sustainable growth. Promote program with Franklin Office of Marketing and Communications. Program Instruction (25%) Develop and deliver educational experiences with Franklin faculty, including core courses such as Startup Lab (customer discovery, market validation, business modeling) and Make (concept‑to‑prototype development), plus additional curricular opportunities through treks, study‑away, and alumni engagement. Teach up to 6 credit hours annually in Franklin CREATE courses. Qualifications Terminal degree in Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Education, or related field; or equivalent professional experience with record of entrepreneurial success. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in entrepreneurial work, program management, or innovation‑focused roles. Strong organizational, problem‑solving, project‑management, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Background in founding, investing, or managing entrepreneurial ventures; record of taking technology or product from inception to market. Experience raising venture financing for early‑stage companies and leading accelerators/incubators. Location and Compensation Location: Athens, GA.
