Associate Counsel, Business

Associate Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs Join our Direct‑to‑Consumer (DTC) portfolio, working across Peacock, NOW, Fandango, and other streaming properties to support regulatory compliance and privacy matters. Responsibilities Support the Regulatory Compliance & Privacy legal team in managing compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards related to the DTC digital portfolio, including existing properties in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Africa. Assist with comprehensive product assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk; develop/implement risk mitigation and corrective action plans for areas of heightened risk or problematic issues; and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Assist attorneys with tracking applicable consumer protection, data privacy, and other regulations and industry standards. Assist with various regulatory compliance projects and perform other program‑related duties as needed at the direction of the DTC group’s Senior Vice President and Vice President, Regulatory Compliance and Privacy. Assist with creating, compiling and distributing training and guidance materials. Develop and maintain systems to track legal approvals. Other matters as needed at the direction of Peacock’s Senior Vice President Regulatory Compliance and Data Security. Qualifications 2+ years of legal experience, including in-house experience, service in a top tier law firm and/or relevant government position. Working knowledge of relevant US and state consumer protection and data privacy laws. A law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school is required. Must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of New York or Washington, DC a member in good standing of another State Bar and registered in New York or Washington, DC as in‑house counsel. Must be willing to work in New York, NY or Washington, DC and travel occasionally as needed. Desired Characteristics Strong academic credentials. Ability to explain complex legal concepts to business executives, build consensus across disciplines within the Direct‑to‑Consumer team, think creatively, and collaborate with other executives to address business needs. Ability to multi‑task and to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Solid work ethic. Hybrid This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Salary range: $100,000–$130,000 (bonus eligible).
