Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant, or LPN at our Central Ohio Medicine office in Columbus, OH. As a Clinical Assistant for COPC you are joining a team that strives to be the best for Primary Care. STNA, EMT, Phlebotomist or prior clinical training preferred. This role will be full-time working first shift hours Monday- Friday.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with the clinical care team to deliver the best care for our patients.Set-up EKG machines, administer injections, and perform routine specimen collection and tests.Interview patients regarding medical concerns and obtain medical history.Measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. Record vital signs and other health-related issues on patients' charts.Assist in performing routine medical procedures as requested.Prepare patients and treatment rooms for exams. Drape patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.Assist in patient education with related educational tools, periodicals, flyers, and handouts.Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.Maintain patient confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA regulation.Attend meetings and participate in classroom activities as needed.All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Licensures & CertificationsRequired: High school diploma or GEDPreferred: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Phlebotomist , Medical Assistant, LPN, or equivalent clinical background/training. Previous experience as a Patient Service Representative also considered.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to maintain confidentiality at all timesAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationsAbility to interpret and apply guidelines and proceduresAbility to communicate clearly and document efficiently in an electronic health recordAbility to efficiently work within an electronic health recordSelf-disciplined, energetic, passionate, and innovativeKnowledge and understanding of medical practicesKnowledge of patient care and examination proceduresKnowledge of medical terminologyKnowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room proceduresKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environmentSkill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications, as directedSkill in taking vital signsSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the publicCustomer service skills; social perceptiveness and service oriented
