**Excellent Compensation at $15.00/hour plus tips + Free Membership ** **We offer a guaranteed draw for any tipped event** Fun opportunity to be a Lead Bartender for our amazing events Our lead bartender will serve customers beverages and concession food in event settings at both venues; Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science and Orpheum Theater Center and assist the bar manager in maintaining all bars and inventory.

***What you will do***

+ Lead the set-up and tear down of portable and stationary bars.

+ Ensure that servers are providing cocktails, wine, beer, soda, water, candy and snacks to WPMI guests in a correct and timely manner.

+ Serves customers beverages in event settings for the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science.

+ Ensures that all guests that are served an alcoholic beverage and are 21 years of age by checking IDs.

+ Overseeing and ensuring proper cash handling, making change, balancing tills with POS drawer reports, filling out appropriate paperwork and making cash deposits at the end of events.

+ Cleanup of bars and equipment.

+ Restocking/filling coolers, bars and pop machines.

+ Orderly upkeep of bar storage areas.

+ Provide cocktail service or passing of champagne and other beverages as requested by clients.

+ Set tables with appropriate glassware as requested.

+ Clear tables of empty glassware and bottles/cans during events.

+ Wash and organize glassware.

+ Ensure that clients receive effective and responsive customer service throughout the events.

+ Ensures that proper safety and sanitation procedures are followed.

+ Assist catering and event staff with other aspects of the event service, set-up or tear down, as needed.

***What you will need - qualifications***

+ **Must be 21 years of age.**

+ Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated tact and proficiency when handling sensitive customer service issues.

+ TAM certification preferred. This training is available through the WPMI and Licensed Beverage Dealers of SD.

+ Must have knowledge of beer, wine and liquor. Additional training may be provided as needed.

+ Must have and follow basic inventory rotation principles FIFO.

+ Ability to stand for long periods of time.

+ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

+ Ability to plan, manage and coordinate fast-paced events.

+ Must be able to understand and follow written or oral instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and visitors.

+ Must be able to handle cash money accurately.

+ Must be flexible and willing to take initiative in identifying and performing work that needs to be done.

+ Ability to work irregular hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

+ Must have and maintain a positive attitude, tolerance of diversity and respect for co-workers.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to supervise and direct others

**Physical Abilities**

* Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

* Ability to walk, stoop, bend and climb stairs throughout the facility.

This position required physical agility to work as a Bartender. Ability to use both hands to open bottles and serve patrons
