Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp./*generated inline style */ Job Description Job Purpose: This position is responsible for providing leadership and instruction to FPI and MPI team members and reports directly to the Responsible Level 3. Serves as primary point of contact to answer questions and offer insight in day to day activities and assist with inspections when needed. Ensure industry, customer, and company policies are followed and team members adhere to all NDT requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Level 3 with NDT compliance, program management, and continuous improvement Perform NDT related work and duties as required in the absence of the department manager/Level 3 Review daily plans with team members to ensure commitment is achieved. Maintain Quality Rules and Safety Rules Maintain calibration program and ensure serviceability of equipment and accessories. Coordinate daily workload with scheduling/planning. Perform internal system audit, annual personnel assessments, and monthly risk-based audits. Must participate in industrial audits, customer audits, and corporate audits. Capable of creating technique sheets in both FPI and MPI. Knowledge and Training: Must hold a current Level 2 certification in FPI or MPI. Must be certified in both methods for a minimum of 5 yrs. Experience interpreting NDT procedures, drawing, and codes. Have general knowledge of other NDT methods and products technologies used by Wyman-Gordon or its suppliers. Must meet the requirements of NAS-410, Level 2 Responsibilities Requires considerable judgment in problem solving for immediate actions. Requires accept/reject authority for forgings or castings deemed Safety of Flight and/or Life Controlled Parts. Must have interpersonal skills, provide clear verbal and written communication, and demonstrate tasks to all team members. Must be capable of being certified as the method Level 3 in FPI and MPI if applicable. Physical requirements: Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment Must be able to pass annual vision exam Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. when needed. Constantly stand, walk, squat, and bending throughout the workday Good coordination to operate several controls simultaneously. Frequent use of physical skills to operate a wide variety of machines & tools working to close tolerances. Use of electric cranes & hoists for lifting & moving forgings Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material Constantly use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools. Frequent repetitive motions Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, and hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
