Research Operations Analyst – BMO U.S. The Research Operations Analyst is principally responsible for the production of critical Manager Research reports. The Analyst coordinates with individual investment teams in the collection and management of data to ensure timely delivery of reports to clients of BMO Wealth Management. The Analyst also maintains and monitors the global data infrastructure of the Manager Research team, conducts operational due diligence on investment strategies, and contributes to projects that support BMO Wealth Management’s growth. Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to data integrity are required. Key Accountabilities Gathering, organizing, and recording data from asset managers Managing the creation and dissemination of investment reports Maintaining and monitoring data systems and processes Assisting in the operational due diligence process of investment strategies Knowledge and Skills Undergraduate degree required Desire or progress in working toward professional designation(s) Excellent attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel) and Morningstar Direct Analytical and problem‑solving skills Team‑work orientation and adherence to ethical standards Research Activities Makes investment recommendations to senior investment leaders and portfolio management teams. Supports execution of strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. Works under supervision to support smaller portfolio mandates. Analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations. Provides timely, accurate research deliverables. Executes research per specific discipline/portfolio management requirements. Develops selection factors and models for asset allocation and risk modeling. Researches and selects managers for investment platforms, sub‑advised funds, wrap products, etc. Monitors domestic and international economic and political trends. Reviews academic literature and maintains knowledge of the market/industry. Evaluates third‑party data sources, models, and software. Presents research results to internal and external clients. Creates written and verbal research reports for portfolio managers. May work independently and as part of a broader team. Qualifications Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree or equivalent. Growing understanding of functionality and operating environment. Ability to maintain high effectiveness, accuracy, and performance in a fast‑paced environment. Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Collaboration and teamwork skills. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Influence skills. Salary: $58,500.00 – $107,900.00 (salaried). Compensation varies by location, skills, experience, education, and may include commission.
