Outstanding Concierge Medicine Career Opportunity
MedNorthwest is a primary care concierge medicine practice located in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, next to Swedish Medical Center and Virginia Mason. Founded in 2002, we are one of the oldest concierge medicine offices in the country. We have an opening for a very skilled board-certified or board-eligible internist or family medicine physician to join our team of three MDs, one DNP nurse practitioner, one ARNP, and seven medical assistants.
Our ideal MD candidate:
Outstanding bedside manner.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Confident, knowledgeable, academically-oriented, solidly evidence-based practice style.
Stable work history. No problems with absenteeism. Gets along great with co-workers.
Complete team player. Willing to do everything to support the staff and the operation of the practice.
BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Because of our concierge model, the volume of patient care is lower than in a traditional primary care practice. You would rarely see more than eight patients per day in the office. Care is also provided over the phone or via email. There is no production requirement. You can spend as much time with patients as you wish. The only requirement is to be a superb, scientific clinician with a great bedside manner. Your role is to build the best relationship possible with your patients and their families.
Primary care doctors in the traditional system would find concierge medicine a welcome change. Hospitalists and internal medicine sub-specialists who want to switch into primary care would find this environment very supportive of that career transition. This is a great environment to grow and learn as a primary care physician, regardless of your background.
Job Highlights:
Excellent, easy to use EMR.
Outstanding support staff to minimize paperwork and administrative burden.
Use of hospitalists. No inpatient work.
No night or weekend duties, other than call, which is very light, averaging 1-2 phone calls per week.
Extremely nice patient population that is a pleasure to care for.
Our evidence-based practice mostly follows the approach in UpToDate, and we care for a number of physicians, PhD scientists, and others in the healthcare industry. The office is open M-F 8:30 - 5.
Salary starts at $300,000 per year with a goal to increase compensation to $400,000 over the next 5 years, including an option for ownership, paid malpractice and tail coverage, health insurance, an employer funded Health Savings Account, your own private office with a view of downtown Seattle, a 401(k) plan after one year of employment with a 3% employer contribution, paid parking, and free food.
