Position Summary The Senior Human Resources Director is responsible for managing and guiding human resources operations for a portfolio of hotels managed by Donohoe Hospitality Services ("DHS"). The Senior Director plays a key role in workforce planning, employee engagement, HR strategy, and ensuring each property aligns with company values and culture, as well as brand standards. In conjunction with these responsibilities, the Senior Director will ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and/or local laws. Annual Salary $100,000 - $130,000. Key Responsibilities Advising and counseling hotel managers and executive leadership on escalated employee relations issues, policy interpretation, performance management, corrective action, workforce planning and leaves of absences. Working with on‑site management and executive leadership to cultivate Donohoe culture, support employee morale, and comply with state/local laws. Handling employee benefits, including but not limited to education, communication, enrollments, disability claims processing, and leave of absence administration. Driving employee engagement, retention, and performance management strategies. Executing regular new hire and payroll duties – participating in the recruiting process, issuing offer letters, conducting background checks, facilitating new hire orientation, managing HRIS entries, and responding to employment verification requests. Planning and conducting employee meetings, engagement events, hotel and file audits, wellness activities, employee surveys and training. Qualifications To be successful in this position, you must have a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of HR or related experience in the hospitality or food services industry, and solid knowledge of federal, state and local law. Essential Skills and Abilities The ability to communicate ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Strong employee relations, problem solving, written and oral communication, and influencing skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, business partners, and management. Microsoft Office proficiency, HCM/HRIS experience. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is diplomatic, approachable, and able to maintain confidentiality; dynamic, self‑motivated, organized, attentive to detail, able to prioritize multiple competing demands, and has exceptional follow‑up and customer service skills. Travel Regular travel to hotels in our portfolio (DC, Maryland, Virginia) on a regular basis is required. Occasional travel outside of the local may also be required.
