Shift: 3rd Shift Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am

Pay: Pay based on Experience

$21.00 - $28.50 PLUS

Purpose and Scope:

The Plastics Extrusion Operator is responsible for following the training parameters to become proficient in set up and operation of extrusion lines according to specifications for machine adjustments, material requirements, part identification number, type and quantity of material required and cutting instructions.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand customer specifications to set up the line and hold tolerances in extrusion of tubing or profiles.
  • Select, position, and secure dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine.
  • Inspect and measure work-piece dimensions using calipers, gauges, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean.
  • Tear down, clean out and set-up extrusion dies.
  • Material Handling (includes mixing/blending of virgin or reprocessed materials)
  • Die cleaning, maintenance, care, and storage.
  • Set-up downstream equipment (cutters, printers, pullers)
Required Qualifications:
  • Prior experience minimum one year as a Plastics Extrusion Operator.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and have troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be willing to become forklift certified.
  • Available to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk for full shift.
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
