FROM, The Digital Transformation Agency is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of robust data architecture solutions that support our clients (banking industry) data strategy, enable business insights, and ensure scalability and security. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data modeling, governance, and architecture design, with experience in banking or financial services, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. This is a remote contract for 6-8+ weeks, EST location will be ideal.



Key Responsibilities

  • Data Architecture Design: Lead the creation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures to support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
  • Data Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain the bank’s data strategy, aligning it with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Modeling: Design logical and physical data models that support transactional and analytical systems across the bank.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
  • Cloud & On-premise Integration: Lead the integration of cloud and on-premise data platforms, ensuring seamless data flows and optimal performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and implement solutions.
  • Data Security: Ensure all data solutions adhere to industry standards for data security and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune data systems for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and leadership to junior data engineers and architects.



Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in database management systems (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes, data lakes, and data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and practices (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
  • Understanding of industry regulations and standards related to data privacy and security.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CDMP, TOGAF) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.



Preferred Skills

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of banking products, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Clear and precise C-Level communication and presentation skills
