Come be part of our family Job Objective This position is accountable for assisting the Branch Manager with providing exceptional service focused on teller operations, achieving organizational goals, branch growth, staff development, implementing policies and procedures, and embracing the credit union’s mission, vision, and values. Supervisory Responsibilities Train, coach and monitor staff to meet or exceed branch and individual sales and service goals. Conduct frequent sales meetings and contests. Assign, monitor and review work assignments of staff to ensure completion according to established procedures and time. Recommend and implement procedures; communicate and ensure new programs, policies and procedures are followed by staff. Assist with personnel development by providing effective training, cross‑training, observation, counseling, timely and fair performance appraisals, and motivation to maintain a positive teamwork environment. Monitor employees’ attendance, performance and conduct. Provide counseling and recommendations for disciplinary action. Ensure adequate staffing levels by scheduling employee work hours; review and approve/disapprove employees’ time off. Assist with interviews of new employees and promotion of existing employees. Assign and complete various departmental side‑jobs. Maintain all necessary department records in accordance with established procedures. Assist with overall maintenance and appearance of the department facilities, maintaining an organized, safe and professional environment. Exercise discretion and independent decision-making to ensure growth and soundness of the credit union. Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance teamwork, share information, improve productivity and maintain proper security and operations. Ensure all correspondence is professional and accurate. Handle a cash drawer (may be required). Serve as a notary (may be required). Process consumer and real‑estate loans (may be required). Assist to ensure loan processing/documents are accurate and complete, that underwriter stipulations are met and appropriate information is documented. Actively manage loan queues to ensure approved loans are funded. Assist with training for shared branches to ensure staff is knowledgeable on all FSCC policies and procedures unique to CU service centers. Assist the Business Development Department with Select Employee Group days. Participation in community and partnership events. Ensure branch compliance with internal audit procedures; perform necessary steps to ensure BSA/AML compliance to reduce risk. Perform other relevant and related duties as required. Qualifications & Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Business/Financial Services is preferred or up to five years of equivalent financial industry experience. A minimum of two years branch supervisory experience is required for Assistant Branch Manager. Maintain registration as Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and regularly provide this registration number to all consumers. Good communication, conflict resolution and coaching skills; demonstrate sound reasoning, judgment and decision making. Knowledgeable in sales and service, branch operations, lending, regulations and security procedures. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively train, develop and motivate others; act as a role model with a professional and positive attitude at all times. Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, accept constructive criticism and lead and manage others. Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays and evenings required to accommodate branch, Business Development and Community Relations functions. Ability to operate standard business machines such as computer, printer, fax, copier and telephone devices. Major Accountabilities Support Branch Manager to ensure sales and service goals are met. Supervise branch operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy and compliance. Motivate, coach, train and mentor staff to excel and achieve goals. Adhere to cash, key and dual control policies and procedures. Adhere to security and robbery procedures. Comply with all other policies and procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to tolerate long periods of sitting/standing with occasional walking. Ability to use keyboard, mouse and other peripherals. Environmental Conditions Work is primarily performed within an office setting. Subject to standard background noise found in an office environment. Management reserves the right to assign or change duties and tasks to this position at their discretion.
