THE POSITION

The Regional Executive Director (RED) is a traveling specialist role. The RED will provide leadership and operational support to an assigned Senior Living community in an interim Executive Director capacity. Assignments may include one of our communities in California. The RED will fill in communities with an ED vacancy or those needing additional administrator support. Additional responsibilities include onboarding and training new Executive Directors. This role requires 100% travel, with a schedule of 10 days on and 4 days off, or possibly Monday through Friday, based on location and need.

The RED will ensure quality care, customer service, partnerships, revenue enhancement, and optimal business results. They will directly oversee their assigned community's daily operations and management and assist in training newly hired Executive Directors in their assigned region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist the assigned community in establishing sales and revenue goals while actively participating in sales and marketing efforts.
  2. Direct the overall daily operations of the assigned community to ensure the highest quality of care and service per facility and company standards.
  3. Recruit, hire, develop, and evaluate all frontline and community leadership team members, building a collaborative culture.
  4. Prepare and manage budgets, cash flow, occupancy, and financial performance reports for the assigned community.
  5. Accountability in fiscal management, employee management / development, quality care improvement / risk management, vendor-staff relationships, and culture / communication.
  6. Ensure resident and team member satisfaction.
  7. Review, develop, and assist in implementing consistent company-wide and facility-based policies and procedures, exceeding state and regulatory minimum requirements.
  8. Conduct comprehensive rounds assessing compliance with quality care standards, environmental services, government regulations, and company policies.
  9. Assist in training and mentoring newly hired Executive Directors.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  1. A bachelor's degree in healthcare, business management, hospitality, or a related field is required.
  2. A graduate degree is preferred.
  3. Must be a licensed RCFE Administrator per state requirements.
  4. At least 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in retirement housing, hospitality, or healthcare operations is required in an Executive Director or General Manager capacity.
  5. Multi-site Executive Director, General Manager, or Regional Director experience is a plus.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and senior living operational systems.
  7. Ability to manage time effectively, with great initiative, good judgment, and integrity.
  8. Customer service mindset with a constant strive for excellence.
  9. Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Proven operational and financial success, with the ability to apply critical thinking to various situations, assess business objectives, and develop, implement, and monitor effective business plans for improvement.
  11. Experience with hiring and building a community leadership team.
  12. Previous experience in overseeing acquisitions or new building openings is a plus.
  13. Ability to travel 100% of the time.
