Primary Functions:
* Physical ability to work in an outdoor environment, including, but not limited to: Walking, climbing, and stooping for up to 10 hours per day in all types of weather conditions.
* Check existing meter, install replacement meter, and perform final meter test.
* Replace gas regulator when necessary.
* Collect data accurately and detail the installations from company-provided handheld device.
* Maintain exceptional standards of safety and quality of work.
* Ability to identify hazardous and abnormal operating conditions as it relates to gas meter sets.
* Check and identify gas leaks on a meter set.
* Ability to safely turn on and off customer gas supplies.
* Proficient in gas appliance safeties and operations.
* Shut down and relighting of gas appliances.
* Use appropriate hand tools to remove and install new gas meters.
* Meet daily installation goals, as established by the Project Manager.
* Communicate and interact with utility customers in a professional manner.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
* Successful candidate(s) must pass the DOT Drug Test.
* Successful candidate(s) must complete a Background Check.
* Must successfully pass all pre-employment assessment(s).
* Must pass the required OQ training, field evaluation, and obtain OQ certification.
* Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills and ability to work independently.
* Must be able to use a variety of hand tools requiring upper body forces up to 30 lbs.
* Adhere to all Federal, State and Local driving requirements, company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA).

Preferred
* Previous experience in Natural Gas Field Service Operations.
* Previous experience installing or repairing gas meters.
* Experience with technology, computers, and various software programs.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
* 8 hour shift
* Day shift
* Monday to Friday

Education:
* High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:
* Hand tools: 2 years (Required)
* Maintenance: 1 year (Required)
* Electrical wiring: 1 year (Required)
* HVAC: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
* Driver's License (Required)

Ability to Commute:
* Charlotte, NC (Required)

Willingness to travel:
* 50% (Required)
