The City of Camas is seeking an Assistant Finance Director. This is an exempt, non-represented position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision. Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System. Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued PTO. This position does require the employee to be on-site; no remote work is immediately available.This position will report to the Finance Director and is responsible for managing and supervising the operations of the accounts receivable (including utility billing), accounts payable, payroll, and procurement in the Finance Department; participates in budgeting and treasury management; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Finance Director and City departments, acting in the capacity of the Finance Director in their absence.The ideal candidate shall possess:Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration with continuing education in finance, accounting, and information technologyMaster’s degree and/or Certified Public Accountant credential is highly desirableFive years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or financial management experienceTwo years of proven management responsibility/leadership capabilities and financial reporting preparationGovernmental accounting experience is requiredExperience with utility billing, payroll and ACFR reporting preferredIn addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated organizational and decision making skills, ability to work with all sectors of the community - public, private, business, schools, and citizens, ability to be a strong team player and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.Open until filled; first application review will be October 30 #J-18808-Ljbffr
