Senior Security Architect Key Highlights Lead enterprise security architecture aligned with CJIS and NIST standards Provide hands?on security engineering across network and infrastructure environments Serve as senior security SME and mentor supporting mission?critical public safety systems Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Security Architect to provide on?site leadership and hands?on expertise supporting enterprise security operations within a public?sector organization. This role enforces security controls, supports compliance and audit readiness, and ensures the secure operation of network and infrastructure environments that support public safety systems. The ideal candidate combines deep technical security expertise, strong knowledge of Cisco?based network environments, and experience operating within highly regulated, mission?critical environments. Full?time, 100% onsite role in Orange County, California. Key Responsibilities Enforce network and infrastructure security controls aligned with CJIS, NIST, and departmental security policies Implement firewall rulesets Configure and manage networks using Cisco ISE for Network Access Control Establish endpoint and access?control policies Support cybersecurity operations, including incident detection, forensic analysis, and mitigation Produce and maintain documentation and evidence to support security audits and compliance reviews Serve as a hands?on security engineer supporting network deployments, upgrades, and incident response Configure Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, WLCs, and wireless endpoints Design and manage VPNs, Quality of Service (QoS), and Access Control Lists (ACLs) Manage network monitoring and logging using SolarWinds, NetFlow, and SNMP Serve as the departments Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise security across IT, public safety systems, and operations Train, coach, and mentor junior and mid?level IT and network staff Lead structured knowledge?transfer sessions, hands?on training, and real?time coaching during implementations and support activities Develop and maintain SOPs, how?to guides, and step?by?step operational documentation Support staff pursuing certifications such as CCNA and CCNP, if desired Perform other activities reasonably related to the role as assigned to support organizational and operational objectives Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in network security, cybersecurity, or infrastructure security Strong hands?on experience with Cisco enterprise networking and security technologies Experience enforcing security controls in regulated or compliance?driven environments Familiarity with CJIS, NIST, or similar public?sector security frameworks Experience supporting incident response and audit readiness Ability to work full?time onsite in Orange County, CA Why This Role This role provides the opportunity to secure systems that directly support public safety and essential community services.
