The Postdoctoral Fellow (Level B) is expected to carry out independent and team research, developing expertise and contributing to the overall goals of the Cutting Alzheimer’s Risk through Endocrinology (CARE) Program, which supports the project "Reducing Women’s Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease."Compensation & Employment Details Annual salary: $127k – $150k plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading. Contract type: Fixed Term – 3 years. Part time: 17.5 hours per week. Location: Australia (Sydney). Responsibilities Engage in individual and/or collaborative research consistent with disciplinary practice. Create scholarly impact recognised by peers in the advancement of disciplinary knowledge. Conduct research under limited supervision, independently or as a team member. Establish a personal research portfolio and develop independent research proposals. Contribute to competitive funding applications under senior guidance. Participate as co‑investigator or chief investigator in grant applications and research collaborations funded by competitive grants. Design research projects. Mentor students and colleagues, developing the next generation of academics through supervision of HDRs. Undertake specific research tasks to meet project milestones on risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease in women. Perform advanced statistical analysis of cohort studies and meta‑analysis of published literature. Prepare applications for data access, ethics approval and collaborative agreements. Align with and actively demonstrate the University’s Code of Conduct and Values. Cooperate with health and safety policies and procedures of the university. Selection Criteria A PhD in Psychology with experience analysing cohort studies. Expertise in cognitive ageing and dementia research, evidenced by a relevant publication record. Demonstrated interest in sex and gender factors influencing neurodegeneration and risk of dementia. Commitment to staying current with discipline knowledge and developments. Track record of high‑quality, high‑impact research and capacity for research leadership. Significant involvement with the profession and/or industry. High‑level communication skills and ability to network effectively with diverse students and staff. Teamwork, collaboration across disciplines and effective relationship building. Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills. Understanding and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
