Our ideal Health Information Specialist will float between the two surgery centers located less than 5 minutes away from each other. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. We are seeking a HIM Specialist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. If you feel patient care is meaningful as we do, we want you to apply Job Summary and Qualifications As a Health Information Medical Records Representative, you will contribute to the company’s mission, vision, and values by maintaining the facility’s medical records in a complete and accurate manner. You will work under the direction of the Business Office Manager/Business Office Supervisor. What you will do in this role: Perform collection, processing, filing and maintenance of medical records. Arrange all chart forms and correspondence reports (operative, lab, electrocardiogram, x‑ray, pathology, etc.) in appropriate order. Adhere to medico‑legal requirements when answering correspondence and inquiries. Obtain all missing chart contents needed to complete medical records. Uphold a checkout and return system for medical records while maintaining confidentiality and security of the documents. Arrange for safe off‑site storage of microfilming. Serve as a liaison between your surgery center and the transcription company. Qualifications you will need: Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting – highly preferred (e.g., ambulatory surgery center, hospital, doctor’s office).
