Job Summary:

The Air Import, Air Export, and Ocean Import Manager is responsible for overseeing the import and export of goods by air and ocean, ensuring compliance, timely delivery, and cost-efficiency. This role involves coordinating with carriers, vendors, and customers, managing a team, and working closely with internal departments to maintain high standards of service. Strong leadership, communication skills, and expertise in logistics and supply chain management are essential.


  • Manage the complete import and export process for air and ocean freight, including carrier selection, booking, and coordinating multi-modal transport.
  • Ensure adherence to customs regulations, trade laws, and industry standards for both air and ocean freight.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, carriers, vendors, and third-party providers to ensure efficient and effective cargo handling and delivery.
  • Work closely with logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless and timely service across all departments.
  • Track key performance indicators, such as delivery times, costs, and service quality for both air and ocean shipments, and provide regular reports to leadership.
  • Develop and refine policies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of import and export services across air and ocean logistics.


Educational Background & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, including specific experience in air and ocean imports and exports
  • Supervisory experience is highly preferred


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, including air and ocean freight
  • Ability to excel under pressure in a fast-paced environment


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Typically involves managing a team of 20+ coordinators and support staff for either air and ocean imports and exports


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with air and ocean cargo logistics software
  • In-depth knowledge of freight regulations, customs requirements, and import/export controls for air and ocean logistics
  • Familiarity with air and ocean shipping routes and schedules


Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized logistics software (CargoWise)
