Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the Ultrasound Technologist II demonstrates competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine and level II advanced ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols.All technologists utilize independent judgment and the required knowledge to obtain high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images.The Technologist competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained prior to submitting them to the interpreting radiologist.They educate the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in the patient’s status, including initiating emergency response if required.They accurately document patient information in the appropriate hospital systems.Ultrasound Technologist II acts as a resource for less experienced technologists in the department.Hospital-based positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital-adjacent imaging center locations.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceAssociate's degree or higher.Graduate of an ARDMS-approved ultrasound program.Minimum of three years of experience as an ultrasound technologist, preferably in an acute care setting.Certifications RequiredBLSAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in one or more specialties.About the CompanyThe Hoag Health Network consists of hospitals, urgent care & health care centers in Orange County.
