* This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($500) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($500) is payable after one year of employment. *

Summary: Truck Driver III's primary duty is to make scheduled pick-ups and deliveries and safely transport material between the Prairie du Sac and New Berlin locations in a timely fashion.Makes miscellaneous unscheduled deliveries or pick-ups as requested.Due to the nature of our business, materials also need to be transported to and from various business partners.A normal route consists of 250 miles per day, but has the possibility of up to 400 miles with multiple stops.Loads and unloads company truck and distributes packages throughout the facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.

  1. Ability to identify and match product numbers from Pick slip(s)..
  2. Ability to pull product from location in a timely manner
  3. Ability to use above average mathematical skills to pull correct quantity from location.
  4. Ability to weight and wrap freight.
  5. Ability to verify product from pick slip with product on pallet.
  6. Ability to use all company lift trucks correctly and safely.
  7. Ability to enter and retrieve data from the computer system.
  8. Have above average handwriting skills.
  9. Must be able to work at heights of 16' to 20'.
  10. Must be able to consistently bend and lift packages weighing on average 40lb.
  11. Ability to read maps, operate a GPS device and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
  12. Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
  13. Must be able to self-motivate and work independently.
  14. Maintain cleanliness in a prescribed manner.
  15. An opening must exist at this level.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills - Ability to read, write and comprehend English.Follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.The ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of Milwaukee Valve.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common factions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Qualifications - Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol screening. Drug and Alcohol screening will be required immediately after any involvement in a motor vehicle accident.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Valid WI Class B CDL (or able to obtain a Class B CDL)

Other Skills and Abilities - Ability to competently inspect and maintain vehicle logs, supplies and equipment; such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.

Ability to safely operate a 2019 Freightliner M2 112 with 26ft box in all weather conditions.

Insurability -
  • No more than three moving violations and/or accidents within the most recent three years.
  • No more than two moving violations and/or accidents within the most recent year.
  • No major convictions within the last five years, including:
    • Driving While intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
    • Leaving the scene of an accident.
      • Carless or reckless driving violations
      • Homicide or assault through the use of a motor vehicle.
      • Attempting to elude a police officer.
      • Drivers who recently have a suspended or revoked license, or those who have three or more license suspension in the past

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, touch objects or controls.The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.On occasion the incumbent may be required to kneel, bend, push, pull, twist and lift items with an average weight of 50lbs.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
