Specific Responsibilities Would IncludePosition Description:Centric Brands is looking for a dynamic, creative, and resourceful Vice President of Strategy & Business Development to join its team. This individual must be a self-starter and team player who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-pacedenvironment, and is excited about joining a team on a journey to accelerate transformation across Centric Brands. This crucial role is responsible for helping drive Centric Brand’s Business Development and Acquisitions agenda, reporting into the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Role and Responsibilities:Support the development of the Business and Corporate Development (“BD”) agenda with agility and pace, including the identification of M&A and licensing opportunities, including strategic and financial assessment, and helping translate Centric’s overall growth strategy into BD prioritiesSupport the CSO and his team on BD projects, including acquisitions, licensing agreements, disposals, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, distribution agreements and equity transactions involving third partiesLead end-to-end project management of transactions, from origination to completion including post-completion obligations and commitments, while assuring that all transactions follow the BD approval process, including writing approval papers.
Oversee and support the development of valuation and business models to support BD projects, and ability to challenge and validate assumptions with market teamsOwn and lead the due diligence process, including coordinating external advisors, consolidating information, analyzing diligence findings, and identifying potential risks, implications, and interrelations of findings with business case assumptions and transaction documentsCollaborate with VPs, M&A legal and external advisors in the review and negotiation of core transaction documentsPartner effectively with the Integration team to both incorporate all Integration assumptions into business cases, support development of the integration plan, and assure proper handoff of transactions to Integration post-closingSupport day-to-day Investment Committee matters including strategic, financial, operational and governance related matters and composition of bi-weekly Investment Committee presentationsSupport acceleration of Centric Brands including being a relationship partner and resource for the BD team and working closely with each division’s leadership teams to identify BD growth opportunities including but not limited to working to identify white space opportunities, capitalize on new license and brand opportunities, product expansion and geographic expansionLead the preparation of briefing and approval materials to Centric Brands executives and other stakeholders including the Board of DirectorsOur Best Fit Candidate Would HaveBachelor’s degree with strong academic record8-10 years previous transaction experience within industry, ideally investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate development; alternatively commercial finance experienceStrong commercial and financial acumen, and strategic thinking capabilitiesThe desired candidate will be highly commercial in addition to having basic financial skills which include:Ability to build from a blank sheet valuation model - including LBO, DCF, comparable sensitivities, etc. Basic accounting knowledge, including ability to perform pro forma and cash flow analysesAbility to structure transactions with input from tax, legal, and treasury and manage the approval processWork with integration team to ensure maximum value delivered from acquisitionsProven track record of building relationships internally and externally with tangible examples of working alongside others and influencing senior stakeholders. Salary
Range: $196,000 - $245,000At Centric Brands, we believe our people are our greatest asset, and we seek to structure competitive compensation offers to ensure that we are able to attract and retain the best talent. Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
