Primary Responsibilities:

The primary focus of this position is to support the Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA) Mission Control Systems (UMCS) Install Integrated Product Team (IPT) by managing, developing, editing, reviewing, and submitting documentation for the design and engineering of Unmanned Aviation Warfare Centers (UAWCs) for shore-based installations.

Collects, completes, organizes, and interprets data relating to the UMCS program.

Applies government-instituted processes for documentation, change control management and data management.

Ensures quality and functionality of UMCS design.

Tasks Performed:

Develop and deliver UMCS Design Guidance Packages for use by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Platform Basic Facility Requirements. Develop and deliver UMCS Installation Work Packages, Installation Guidance Documents, and Installation Information Packages. Conduct analysis on the impact of the UMCS system on planned shore facility construction size, cost, schedule, and infrastructure. Identify and resolve design issues by applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) techniques. Participate in design reviews, provide feedback and solutions to improve facility design and performance. Identify and design for facility Space, Weight, Power, and Cooling (SWaP-C) and network requirements.

Education/Experience:

Experience with NAVAIR projects. Experience related to unmanned carrier aviation and UMCS.

JOURNEYMAN: A Journeyman level person within a labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience related to the functional duties for that labor category and a BA/BS degree.

Allowable Education/ Experience Substitutions:

Six (6) years additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. Associate’s Degree plus four (4) years additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.

SENIOR: A Senior level person within a labor category has over 10 years of experience related to the functional duties for that labor category and a MA/MS degree.

Allowable Education/ Experience Substitutions:

Ten (10) years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree. Associate’s degree plus eight (8) years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree plus four (4) years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a master’s degree.

Desired Experience:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and other MS Office products. Ability to communicate well in team environments. Good organizational skills. Prefer familiarity with NAVSEA and NAVAIR terminology.

Security Clearance Required: Secret Clearance.

Estimated Travel: 20%

Location: On-site Lexington Park, MD.
