SUMMARY:

The Host/Hostess is responsible for guest satisfaction upon arrival and departure by offering a genuine and timely greeting in co-ordinance of existing systems, policies, training, and departmental standards. The Host/Hostess is expected to provide an exemplary dining experience for guests through prompt, timely, and genuine greeting, accurate wait quotes, along with communication with the service staff, thorough knowledge of the current menu, specials, and items out of stock. The Host/Hostess is expected to know, understand, and abide by established company policy, departmental procedures, and display comprehensive knowledge of the policies dictated in Title 31. The hostess should also possess general understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
  • Sets up Host/Hostess station according to restaurant guidelines.
  • Know and assist in the steps of service and completes shift and closing side work according to the specifications as set by the F&B Manager
  • Immediately alerts a member of the leadership team in the event of any dis-satisfied guest or service and/or quality issues.
  • Cleans and maintains Host/Hostess Area.
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment used in the front of the house.
  • When needed, assists with the clearing and reset of tables in a timely and sanitary fashion.
  • Displays polite, genuine, and professional phone etiquette as dictated by training documents or directives issued by F&B Manager.
  • Keep all areas clean & sanitized as directed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a regular, consistent attendance record.
  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the F&B Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred but not required.
  • Must hold Food Handler Certification as a requirement
