Job Summary:
HCA Healthcare is seeking to recruit a neonatologist for a long-standing private group practice based in the South Texas community of Brownsville.About the Practice:
- Practice has served the South Texas/Brownsville market for 35 years.
- Physicians typically work from 7 am - 5 pm (shorter shifts when working weekends)
- 3 or 4 calls from home per week of service (3 calls one week, 4 calls the following week), the practice covers 2 weeks on / one week completely off, with call including both hospitals, with 24/7 NNP in house coverage at both facilities.
- The practice covers two Level 3 NICU's and their respective routine nurseries. Equal time is spent at both facilities (3 days at one, 4 days at the other) per week.
- Average deliveries combined is about 4,000 per year.
- Typical NICU census is 10 at Valley Regional, 12 at Valley Baptist
- The practice will offer a competitive salary
- Benefits include health, dental, 401K, Profit sharing, malpractice, and one week of time off every 3rd week.

They serve a catchment area of 500,000+ and since there is no tertiary care center, Valley Regional sees a variety of interesting cases.
Valley Regional Medical Center is a Level III Trauma Center and offers many sophisticated services such as Emergency Care, Stroke Certified Center, Neonatal Intensive Care, Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. The latest in Radiology technology is offered. Two Cath Labs. The Women’s Pavilion specializes in obstetrics and neonatology and offers labor and delivery suites, cheerful, homelike birthing rooms and newborn nurseries, a 10-bed NICU and a Transport Team available 24-hours/day.
