Associate Attorney A premier civil litigation and business counseling firm with offices in Walnut Creek and San Francisco, California seeks an experienced associate attorney to defend insurance carriers, businesses, and professionals in complex litigation. The role involves managing complex commercial general liability cases, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Primary Responsibilities Manage complex cases and defend clients in state and federal courts. Conduct discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Analyze insurance coverage and advise on bad faith litigation. Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with clients. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar. 3-7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on commercial general liability defense (insurance defense experience preferred). Strong interest in at least one of construction, product liability, premises liability, transportation, or retail/hospitality – multiple area experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent oral advocacy and client communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Proficiency with legal technology and case‑management software.
