Job Description Summary
Join our dynamic surgical team as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in a PRN role In this essential position, you will serve as the scrub person and surgeon assistant, as well as the assistant circulator for patient procedures spanning from newborns to geriatrics, all under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Your Role
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
- Sterilize surgical equipment and instruments.
- Ensure adequate supplies are stocked for surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
- Assist during surgery by passing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Track and manage surgical supplies to optimize workflow.
- Stay updated on surgical technology and procedures to enhance patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and the entire surgical team.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Experience: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology.
- Certification: Surgical Technologist Certification required (obtained after 2008).
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
This is a PRN position, requiring availability for at least one full shift bi-weekly and potential additional hours as needed. Work hours may vary based on departmental demands.
