Job Overview The Sr Software Engineer works with a team of other software engineers, network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software that meets customer requirements, scales easily, removes traditional networking limitations, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The role focuses on creating applications that leverage virtualization, micro‑services, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms. Responsibilities include participating in architecture and design of software components, making technical decisions, and providing engineering leadership with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Technical Engineering Services Drive engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations. Supervise base and associate‑level engineers as needed. Understand system protocols, operations, and data flows, and independently develop a full software stack. Interact with system engineers to define system requirements for automation. Innovation Contribute to designs that implement new ideas using new frameworks to improve existing or new system/process/service. Review existing designs and processes to identify more efficient approaches. Understand the creation of company IPR. Technical Leadership Collaborate with technical teams, leveraging system expertise to deliver solutions. Continuously learn and teach others about existing and new technologies. Mentor or conduct in‑house workshops and learning sessions. Technology Strategy Contribute to new and existing technology options that support business goals. Understand current technologies that support business goals and independently develop a full software stack. Technical Writing Write basic documentation on how technology works, creating clear documentation for new code and systems. Document system designs, presentations, and business requirements for managerial consumption. Education and Work Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required) 4–7 years of technical engineering experience Technical Skills Programming Languages: Java 17 & 21, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, PL/SQL, Gherkin, Shell Scripting, NodeJS Frameworks: MVC, Spring Boot, Struts, EJB, Spring Cloud, Servlets, OAuth2, JPA, Hibernate Front‑end: Angular, React, JSP, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Material UI Back‑end: Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Microservices, SOAP Services, Swagger, WSDL Cloud Platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Git, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, GitLab CI/CD Databases: Oracle Methodologies: Agile (Scrum/Kanban), CI/CD Automation Testing Tools: Karate, Bruno, Postman, SOAP UI, Cucumber, Rest Assured Monitoring: Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics Tools: IntelliJ, VS Code, SQL Developer, TOAD Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Communication (Required) Customer Service (Required) Analytics (Required) Technical Writing (Required) At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel Required: Yes DOT Regulated Position: NoSafety Sensitive Position: No Base Pay Range: $113,600 - $205,000Corporate Bonus Target: 15% The pay range above is a general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The actual starting pay will vary within this range based on location, qualifications, and experience. At T‑Mobile, employees in regular, non‑temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or corporate bonus, generally set at a percentage of the employee’s earnings in the prior year.
