Walton Beach,and Panama City, Florida. Acute inpatient medical and surgical care, primary,specialty outpatient care, long-term care, blind rehabilitation, as well asinpatient and outpatient mental health services are provided at the Biloxicampus. Over 200,000 veterans reside in our service area. The VAGCVHCS hasaffiliation agreements with three medical schools and numerous associatedhealth programs. We support resident training in cardiology, dermatology,general surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, radiology, anddental programs, as well as a general thoracic fellowship. The residents rotatefrom the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Tulane University in New Orleans,Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and Keesler Air Force Base inBiloxi.OUR MISSION: To fulfill President Lincoln'spromise "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for hiswidow, and his orphan" by serving and honoring the men and women who areAmerica's Veterans.The Physician serves as a Primary Care Women's Health Physician in an outpatient primary care clinic. Provides comprehensive outpatient care for a panel of adult females. You willserve as a provider who is highly skilled in the management of a patient's primary careneeds or subspecialty evaluation and treatment. Thephysician isresponsible to contribute to the achievements of quality of care standards,efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction.You will writeorders for diagnostic testing, prescribed medications, and consultation tospecialty services utilizing computer-keyboarding techniques. Thephysician isexpected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values andwith a commitment to service excellence. Board Certification preferred.Required SkillsQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Inorder to qualify for this position you must meet the following:Basic RequirementsU.S.citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruitqualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.Degree of doctorof medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education inmedicine or osteopathic medicine.Current, fulland unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory,or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.ReferenceVA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, PartII, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard.
