SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reporting to the Medical Director, Primary Care, the Dietitian assesses clients' and patient' nutritional and health needs. You will provide nutrition consultation and education for patient and their families who are screened at or identified with nutrition risk, and/or referred by a healthcare provider. The Dietitian ensures that the patient's nutrition needs are being met and acts as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
Position may cover Cuyahoga/Lake counties or Lake/Ashtabula counties with the remaining county covered remotely.
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
Proactively screen patients with scheduled appointments to assess need for authorizations, identify past due balances or challenges with claims and determining benefit eligibility.
Educate and provide patients with information regarding insurance, benefit, and financial policies and procedures impacting care delivery.
Conduct consultation in person and via phone with clients on past due balances and/or benefit eligibility complications.
Make appropriate linkages to resolve complex financial issues impacting care delivery.
Reconcile all received payments through the cash drawer reconciliation function and balances and close charge/payment batches before the end of the day.
Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
Maintain all aspects of HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and right to privacy.
May be required to perform telehealth services as determined by Signature Health.
Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health.
Responsible for and completes all productivity/documentation requirements.
Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
Demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality in adherence with Signature Health policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Registered Dietitian (RD) by Commission of Dietetic Registration required.
Valid unencumbered state licensure if required by state law.
3-5+ years' of clinical dietician experience required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
