The Mechanic/Marine Technician s responsibility is to perform the duties below on a regular basis and meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales and safety requirements. Our marinas service power boats as well as sail boats, and offer an opportunity to continue growing under experienced mentorship.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair marinized engines
- Familiar with carbureted and fuel injected intake systems
- Perform winterization and summarization of engines and boat systems
- Familiar with 12V systems
- Assist with installations such as new engines, pumps and others as assigned
- Perform mechanical repairs including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, etc.
- Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilities
- Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
- High school diploma required
- 0-3 years of experience in mechanical repair and installation
- Direct from school candidates welcome
- Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagrams
- Must provide personal mechanical tools and test equipment
- Apprentices may be provided tools for a limited time
- Expectation is for the employee to provide their own tools
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
- Strong work ethic and personal commitment
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
